The story behind the rebuild
We started SmartSize with a simple idea: help Shopify stores reduce returns by guiding shoppers to the right size. That mission hasn’t changed. But the product needed to.
We spent the last months rethinking every part of the app — how Shopify merchants set up their sizing, how shoppers interact with the quiz, how recommendations get calculated. We didn’t patch what was there. We started over.
The question we kept coming back to was: what does a shopper need in the ten seconds before they pick a size? Not more data. Not a bigger chart. They need confidence. They need to feel like they’re making the right call.
Everything we rebuilt optimizes for that moment.
What changed
Shoppers see how every size fits — visually
This is the biggest change. When a shopper completes the quiz, they don’t just see “you’re a Medium.” They get an interactive fit map that shows how each size sits on their body — where it’s snug, where it’s relaxed, where it falls between.
They can explore other sizes too. Compare. Decide with their eyes, not a guess.

Setting up sizing data used to mean copying numbers into a spreadsheet, row by row. Now you photograph a brand’s size chart — or screenshot it from a supplier’s PDF — and drop it into SmartSize. The AI reads the image, extracts the measurements, and structures them automatically.
No manual entry. No formatting. Done in seconds.
A size recommendation in 30 seconds
The quiz asks for the basics — height, weight, body shape. If you prefer more precision, you can switch to exact measurements instead. Your choice, configured in the dashboard.
Either way, shoppers get a clear recommendation without pulling out a tape measure.

Over 70% of shoppers browse on their phone. The quiz was built mobile-first from day one — large touch targets, fluid layout, fast transitions. It feels native on any store, any screen size.

The quiz detects the store’s selected language and switches automatically. No configuration needed. French shoppers see French. Japanese shoppers see Japanese. 26 languages out of the box.
More than T-shirts
The previous version focused on basic apparel. The new SmartSize covers clothing, lingerie, swimwear, shoes, tailored garments, and pet accessories. If the product comes in sizes, we likely support it.
That said — we’re built for sized products. If you sell electronics or home goods, this isn’t for you. We’d rather be great at one thing than mediocre at everything.

SmartSize runs inside a Shadow DOM — a sealed container that keeps our styles completely isolated from your Shopify theme’s CSS. No styling clashes, no broken layouts, no surprises. It just works, on every theme.

If you want deeper integration, SmartSize exposes a JavaScript API. Trigger the quiz from custom buttons, listen for recommendation events, pass data to your analytics. The defaults work for most stores. The API is there when you want more.
Pricing
We built the pricing for Shopify merchants who want to start small and scale. There’s a free plan to get started — 50 unique visitors per month, enough to set everything up and see results before committing. Every paid plan comes with a 14-day free trial — full access, no restrictions.
The model is simple: each plan includes a monthly quota of unique visitors. One visitor = one person, no matter how many products they check or how often they come back that month. No per-recommendation charges, no revenue share. Annual billing saves roughly 25%.
